Resinpal 1707 is a chrystal-clear casting resin based on polyester resin. It is ideal as potting compound or for the production of castings, for embedding objects such as photos, models, electrical components or plants as well as for the production of creative works of art such as murals or jewelery. Resinpal 1707 cobalt pre-accelerated casting resin dissolved in styrene is also used for the production of crystal-clear rod materials and for the production of insulation material.
With the highly transparent Resinpal 1707 casting resin, you can produce water-white castings without discolouration in a single or multi-layer casting process. The low viscous and crystal clear resin with very low shrinkage cures quickly, is weather resistant and insensitive to cracks. Key benefits of polyester-based casting include low cost and UV resistance. Crystal-clear Resinpal 1707 casting resin can also be used in combination with coloring pigments and polyester color pastes.
When using Resinpal 1707 casting resin, a hardness addition of 1.0 to a maximum of 1.5 percent (parts by weight) is optimal. How much hardener you use exactly depends in particular on the layer density and the temperature. The higher the temperatures, the faster the cure. Glass-clear resin Resinpal 1707 should be processed at temperatures of about 18 degrees. Always observe the maximum pouring height specifications to avoid excessive exothermic reactions and resulting yellowing. In the multi-layer casting process, you will get crack-free results when the casting resin of the previous layer is gelatinized before you pour on the new layer.
